Bill Has Too Much Money

This year Bill Belichick and the Patriots had a lot of money to play with during free agency. The Patriots to date have spent over 126 million dollars. In the past 10 years they have spent just 400 million. It's safe to say this has been the Patriots most active free agency in 20 years. At first, Bill shocked the world when he signed much needed pass rushing linebacker, Matt Judon, for 56 million dollars . A big signing like that is already un-Patriot like but the fact that later that day they signed star TE Jonnu Smith for another 50 million dollars was even more surprising. No one expected them to make any more big moves but suddenly they signed another star TE Hunter Henry. In addition, they acquired much needed players in the positions they were lacking last year. The wide receiver position last year was very underwhelming. Two of the patriots starting receivers were injured for most of the season. Patriots now acquired Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne to accompany Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry to help resigned QB Cam Newton. New England’s defensive backs also found some new help in Jalen Mills. Jalen Mills will have a great impact now that 3 time Super Bowl Champion Patrick Chung retired. Some other notable signings are returning linebacker Kyle Van Noy and returning O-linemen Trent Brown.

With all these new players I expect the Patriots to have a much better season. Cam Newton did not have the best season last year but everyone knows how much of a hard worker he is and how great of a player he can be. Now he has the weapons to release his full potential. The defense will also improve since a lot of New England Players opted out last year. A notable player coming back from that is Dont'a Hightower. The running game should also improve with Damien Harris going into his second year with a lot of potential and a new and great offensive line. The only player the Patriots really need to sign back is breakout corner J.C Jackson. Although in a tough division I can see this team winning 9 games and even making a playoff run.
